Mastering the Greek language for professional purposes is essential for foreigners seeking to work in Greek businesses, whether in Greece or abroad. The need for integration into Greek society, the job market, and the acquisition of key language structures and industry-specific terminology inspired the creation of “Greek for Science.”
“Greek for Science” is designed for students at the intermediate level (B1-B2) and focuses on enhancing language skills in real-world science contexts.
The course is built around a specialized textbook developed by a consortium of international schools and universities, partially funded by the EU. The primary goal of the book is to equip students with a broad range of scientific communication scenarios, emphasizing the vocabulary, grammar, and syntax required in these situations.

Every fifth unit includes a comprehensive review, reinforcing the vocabulary and grammatical structures covered.
Each unit follows a consistent structure, divided into two parts, each of them includes:
- A text, typically a dialogue based on real work-related communication scenarios
- A vocabulary section, covering terminology, grammar references, declensions, and verb conjugations
- Comprehension and vocabulary exercises
- Grammar theory and practice exercises
At the end, there is a section with word games, such as crossword puzzles and hangman, to reinforce learning
The “Greek for Science” course provides a comprehensive framework for developing the linguistic skills needed to succeed in a professional Greek-speaking environment.
The program includes:
- 20 hours of group lessons / week (1 to 5)
15 hours of group lessons / week (6 to 9) - 6 hours of out of class activities / week (see them in detail below)

- 1st & 3rd week: A presentation on a Greek cultural subject

- Every Friday: Greek dance lessons (apply only in Athens)
